Northern Panhandle Conservation District Outreach Education
The Northern Panhandle Conservation District continues to expand conservation education and outreach opportunities for local youth through hands-on learning experiences. Funding from RC&D supported two successful projects: a pumpkin science experiment at Hilltop and Cameron Elementary Schools, where students explored agricultural and environmental concepts through classroom activities, and a planting day at the NPCD Community Garden, where fourth-grade students from Center McMechen Elementary School learned gardening techniques and the importance of conservation while planting vegetables alongside conservation professionals and community partners. These projects helped foster an understanding of agriculture, natural resources, and environmental stewardship among participating students.
